Dr. Sepehr “Sep” Mesdaghinia is the founder of NOVA Arthritis and Rheumatology Specialists who started this practice in 2017. Dr. Sep is a board certified rheumatologist and internal medicine specialist who is licensed to practice medicine in Virginia. He is dedicated to providing compassionate care to his patients at our Sterling office in Northern Virginia, where he practices medicine and rheumatology.
Born in a small town in Kansas, he attended Penn State University for his internal medicine residency before completing his rheumatology subspecialty fellowship at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Furthermore, Dr. Sep has significant research background in rheumatologic and autoimmune diseases including clinical research at National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Mesdaghinia is a member of American College of Rheumatology, DC Rheumatism Society, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association. His interests are rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout and osteoporosis and his main passion is having a long term connection and a healing relationship with his patients.
ABOUT
Dr. Mamata Chand is a highly qualified, double board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She has extensive experience practicing rheumatology in Northern Virginia and is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Dr. Chand completed her Internal Medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital in New York. She then served as a Primary Care Physician at Kaiser Permanente Largo Medical Center in Maryland for two years before pursuing specialized training in rheumatology. She completed her Rheumatology fellowship at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC.
She also holds certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound from the American College of Rheumatology and is a recipient of the prestigious USSONAR scholarship. Dr. Chand is an active member of several professional medical societies and remains committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in her field.
Dr. Chand treats a wide range of rheumatologic conditions, with particular clinical interests in rheumatoid arthritis, gout, psoriatic arthritis, osteoporosis, lupus, and myositis.
Originally from Nepal, Dr. Chand is passionate about delivering compassionate, individualized care tailored to each patient’s needs.
